Storms possible tonight, showers Friday

There is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in place for portions of Nebraska through 9:00pm CDT, August 18, 2022.

A cold front will push south and southeast Thursday late afternoon and evening sparking showers and thunderstorms, some of which may become strong to severe. As the storms push into SE Nebraska, the sun will be going down and they will lose the heating of the day. Because of this, storms are not expected to be severe in SE Nebraska, but we may still see some much needed rain out of the storms that hang on. You can track the storms on our radar page, just click on this link: RADAR After the storms tonight, a low pressure system to our northeast will be churning away and this will push a few pulses our way, giving us an outside chance at a shower or storm on and off Friday. It’s looking like the best chance will be in the morning, but a few showers will be possible Friday evening, as well.
